To Inspire

Genealogy is a great hobby. Always something new to find whether it be a new name, story or event in history. I hope this inspires you a little bit to find out something new about your family and pass it on so the history doesn't get lost. If your new to my blog, please see the tab "Archive Index" - these are all my past articles. Enjoy!

Military Monday REVOLUTIONARY WAR - Zadock Ingell

Zadock Ingell is my 5th Great Grandfather on my Appleby side.  He fought in the Revolutionary War.  He was born  May 1759 in Taunton, MASS and Died December 1832 in Chester, MASS.  His family was in America back in the 1600's. They were in the Plymouth and Bristol Colonies.   He was married to Christina Bell who's family line comes from Ireland.

Zadock's death record

This is the 1790 Census from Chester, MA.  You can see Zadock Ingell, and other members of the family are the Bell's and Campbell's as well.

He enlisted in the Revolutionary War in 1776 in  Taunton, MA .  I have several papers from the pension files and such verifying he was enlisted.  They are difficult to read the writing but very interesting read.

I found this information in a book outlining his service:
