To Inspire

Genealogy is a great hobby. Always something new to find whether it be a new name, story or event in history. I hope this inspires you a little bit to find out something new about your family and pass it on so the history doesn't get lost. If your new to my blog, please see the tab "Archive Index" - these are all my past articles. Enjoy!

Ideas for the blog

Now there are a lot of genealogy blogs out there, and a lot of them follow a themes to go with the day of the week. I probably wont get to blog every day because I want to have a little substance in the blog and it takes time, which I don't always have.  But some of the themes I've decide I'm going to try and follow are the following:

  • Military Mondays- I will talk about either a person who fought in a war or documents you can order or how to find records. I love this day!
  • Tombstones & Treasure Chest Find Tuesdays - Now, one probably wouldn't ways think a tombstone would be in the same sentence as a treasure chest find, but it can be! If you find a tombstone with dates on it, it can help you find many more treasures and stories! So I'll tell you finds I have found, pictures I've taken, and stories I've found.
  • Wordless Wednesdays - This is picture day! Picture IS worth a thousand words because you can tell so much about a time period or person or family from a photograph!
  • Tip, Thoughts and Throwback Thursdays - just as it states, I'll give tips, my thoughts on people or stories and I'll post photos for throwback thoughts to get you started on your own research!
  • Fancy Friday - I'll talk about whatever tickles my fancy!
  • Surname Alpha Saturday - I'll talk about a person starting from A - Z
  • Sorting and Making Sense Sundays - I'll talk about how to research, store items, and how to record your findings, where to look, etc.
Again, I wont blog everyday - but on the days I post, I am hoping to stay with these themes! And if you ever have a question or suggestion, please email me, I'd be happy to try and answer any questions!
